How To Choose A Reliable Web Host For Your Website
A client of mine paid for a solo advert to promote his website in the newsletter I publish at e-bizministry about two months ago. As I was about to send his advert to my list, he called me up on phone and told me not to send it yet. Naturally, I asked him why. His reply shocked me out of my wits.
He said he had just discovered that his website had disappeared from the net. He even said the same thing had happened to the same website earlier in the year when it disappeared in January only to reappear for just one week in May. I could not help but laugh because I knew his problem. He had made a wrong choice of web host.
Your choice of web host can either promote your business or ruin your business. You have to be very careful when choosing your web host or you will be consistently losing up to 80% of your income due to your web host’s inefficiency.
Here are a few quick tips on how to know which web host is reliable, affordable and right for your website.
1. Check if the web host has a web presence. Face it, if a company claims to be a web host and they don’t have a functional website of their own, then they have no business hosting other people’s websites. Any web host you will use must have a functional website where you can check for domain availability, get support and order for their hosting services.
Additionally, you should conduct random checks on their website. If you visit their site randomly ten times and the site is not available more than once in those ten times, forget about that company except you want your own website too to be unavailable almost all the time.
2. Any web host you will use must have an appreciable level of relevant experience. A minimum of a full year of operation. A new web host will only experiment with your website and the result may not be good for your business. Visit the web host’s website and read about them. If they don’t talk about their experience, then they don’t have it. Just leave them alone.
3. Look out for their present clients’ testimonials on their website. Call or email the clients and ask them questions. If they confirm that the web host is good, then the company has passed this test. However, if you don’t even find a single testimonial on their website, they probably don’t have any satisfied client. What to do? Just leave them alone.
4. How fast or how well does the company respond to support emails? You can find out by conducting this small test. Visit the web host’s website and submit or email an enquiry to them. If you don’t get a response in 24 – 48 hours, please run away as fast as your legs can carry you. Why? When you host your website with them and you have a problem, it will take them more than a month to respond to your support emails or requests.
5. You should not forget to check out their prices. The prices must be within reasonable limits and their packages must have the features you desire; adequate monthly transfer, email addresses, MySQL databases, CGI bin, FTP access, control panel etc. Very high prices don’t necessarily translate into very good services. Don’t be fooled by high prices. It’s a common trick, please don’t fall for it.
6. It must be easy and secure to make payments to your web host. It is not advisable to fill in your credit card details when making your payment. You should rather use a web host that accepts other forms of payment that do not require you to fill in your credit card details e.g. paypal and egold. If you are in a country where you don’t have easy access to credit card facilities, it is even better to use a web host that accepts payment in your local currency. This will ensure that you won’t have any problems when you want to renew your domain and your hosting accounts.
7. Use only web hosts that give 24 hour online access to your account. With that, you have total control over your domain and your website and you can change anything including your name servers (DNS)whenever you want.
8. It is better to use a web host that offers additional web services such as web design, website promotion, search engine submission and website management. They can be of help to you in future if you have any problems with your website or you need any additional services.
9. Before you make your payment, read the terms and conditions of the company carefully. If you don’t understand or agree with any of their terms contact them for more explanations.
10. Finally, I know it may be very time consuming for you to conduct these tests on the hundreds of web hosts out there before choosing one. I have therefore taken the pains to analyse hundreds of them. I recommend two web hosts that have passed our simple tests. I can put my reputation on the line and guarantee their efficiency, reliability and affordability.

How to Choose a Hosting Web Package Cheap
If you’re looking for a hosting web package cheap there are many things to consider. To find a hosting web package cheap you really need to do your homework and search the internet for the right host for you. But beware, just because a company might offer a hosting web package cheap you really need to look at what the package offers.
Check the Disk Space. Many companies offering a hosting web package cheap may only give you a limited amount of Disk Space like 100 or 150 MB(megabytes). That’s O.K. if you’re building a site to let friends see and are only expecting 100 people or so a month.
If you want an ecommerce site ( a site that sells products to make you money) then you may need more disk space if you plan on having more customers.
Another thing to look for when trying to find a hosting web package cheap is the amount of Transfer they give you.
Transfer is the traffic or the amount of visitors that they allow to come to your site. If the amount of visitors exceeds what they offer in there hosting package, they may charge you more per month for extra Transfer. Again with a cheaper hosting package you may only get 10 or 15 GB(gigabytes) of Transfer.
Companies like Lowest Hosting may only give 100 – 200Mb disk and 10 ? 15 GB of Transfer while sites like Globat and Bluehost can offer much more of a hosting web package cheap. You can click the link below to get a list of quality hosting web packages cheap.
When looking for a hosting web package cheap also check to see how many email accounts they offer. Just about all hosts offer a good number of email accounts. If your more advanced you may want to check if they offer php, Perl, Asp, MySQL and other types of secure directories. But if you’re fairly new to hosting the Disk Space and Transfer are the things you should be looking for.
CGI
Common Gateway Interface, is a protocal script used to make your site dynamic. Flash banners, moving objects. With the right web design program or scripting knowledge and a host that offers CGI you can easily bring your site to life.
Frontpage Extensions
Now-a-days more sites are offering Frontpage extensions. Microsoft Frontpage is a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) web design program that lets you easily create web pages while the software does all the coding behind the scenes. The great thing about using Frontpage and having a host with Frontpage extensions is once you design your webpages all you have to do is click one button that says “publish site” and all your pages go from your computer to your hosting space with one click.
Remember, when choosing a hosting web package cheap make sure there are no hidden fees for over useage of transfer and when you find a hosting web package cheap make sure they have a good support team that will help you.
Nowadays finding a hosting web package cheap isn’t to difficult since there are many to choose from and companies offer a hosting web package cheap to stay competitive with other companies that offer a hosting web package cheap.

Getting The Best Web Hosting For Your Business
After the dot.com bubble burst a few years back I really thought that the Internet craze was over. With sites folding faster than newbies at a Texas Hold ‘Em table it seemed like all those tech-crazed nerds would have to go out there and get real jobs like the rest us. Even the stock market seemed to lose interest in the Internet and the Nasdaq plunged. But, like the inevitable sunrise, the Internet just continued to grow and build momentum with each passing year. But I am no fool and it occurred to me that I either hop on board or risk the consequences of being left behind!
Although most of us are naturally intimidated by things we do not understand we all have the capacity to adapt and grow-and this is precisely what I did. I began reading through the websites and it hit me completely-this thing is going to be bigger than the invention of the car, television, or anything that has come before! To thrive in this new, big, and very bold world being created by the computer engineers and their counterparts I was going to have to create an e-business of my very own and do so soon! There are literally millions of pages added to the web every single day and I didn’t know how to add a single one!
Thankfully and very important to my survival in this new electronically-driven era, there are companies that cater to people just like me. I realized that I didn’t have to know what in the world things like html or java script were, I just needed the help of people who did! I found a place where, depending on my situation and needs, I could host a website of my own with all the tools and gadgets I would ever need to successfully operate my own e-business! With shopping cart integration, bandwidth based upon need and traffic flow, banners and logos to suit my needs, and even help with customizing my first few pages, this place had everything I could ever need!
I always knew that I wanted to own and operate my own business but I never dreamed I could do so using the Internet and working from my home. Now, I have access to every single person on the planet already connected to the Internet with thousands plugging in every day! To thrive, not just survive, in this Internet-driven world, it is absolutely critical that you are part of the game because otherwise it WILL pass you by!

Dedicated Web Hosting Is Easy When You Know These 3 Timesaving Secrets
Dedicated web hosting has its difficulties and problems from time to time like all technology. However, there are certain things you can do to prepare yourself for any server downtime or other problems that might arise. The key, however, to these tips is that you are aware of them before the problem occurs rather than afterwards. The following three timesaving tips will help you with your dedicated web hosting and save you a lot of time.
Tip #1 Managed Dedicated Server
When you have your own dedicated server someone has to manage it. So, you have two options. You can either choose a managed server and have a hosting company handle all of the details, maintenance, and updating that must take place. Or, you can hire an administrator to handle this maintenance for you. The last option is you can manage it yourself, that is, if you are skilled in those kinds of things. Basically, if you hire an administrator it will cost you extra money as well. Regardless, if you have a managed dedicated server installed you should know beforehand who will be handling the maintenance and other details to keep everything running smoothly with as little downtime as possible.
Tip #2 Know the Details
You always need to know all the details regarding your dedicated server as well as your web host. When you know all of the details you know what to expect when a situation occurs and how it will be handled. If you do not know the details when you involve yourself in a contract with a dedicated web host then you will be asking for trouble. Save yourself from this and make sure you know everything there is to know about your equipment, who is responsible for what, and the game plan if any problems arise.
Tip #3 Support
Another key element you need to know that will save you time when problems arise is the kind of support you have from your web host. You want to have a web host that provides support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and 365 days per year. If your web host is not offering this then you might prefer to find one that does because for some reason problems seem to arise after hours and not weekends or holidays.
Now that you know these timesaving tips you will be better prepared to choose a dedicated web host that meets your businesses needs. Also, since you are already aware of everything in advance you will not have any problems dealing with situations that arise due to your web host because you are already prepared for anything!

Are Free Webhosting Accounts Really Free? – 5 Critical Things to Consider Before Choosing a Free Web
Many free web hosting accounts are free to use, however they will cost you a lot of money, time, and customers as well if you have a site that is meant for business purposes and is more than the simplest site imaginable. Consider the following items as to why free web hosting might cost you more than you had bargained for when you signed up.
Consideration #1 Bandwidth
Frequently, free web hosting providers offer you little bandwidth which means it will take longer for your page to load. When your page takes more than 10 seconds to load you will lose visitors because they will simply move on. Because of this, you might lose a lot of customers and sales from your free web host.
Consideration #2 Advertising
Many free web hosting companies are “free” to you, however, you will have advertising posted on your website as well as pop up ads. Most people do not like this and will not visit your site because of it. Be careful about signing up with a free web hosting company that uses advertising. It might not bother you, but it will probably affect your traffic and sales.
Consideration #3 Web Space
Since the web host is free, you cannot expect a whole lot of web space. Frequently people do not have the space they need to upload their web page and include all of their information. Be sure to check with your free web space provider or the ones you are considering to make sure you will have enough web space to host all of the required elements of your web pages.
Consideration #4 Reliability
Another consideration with free web hosting companies is reliability. Often times limitations are put on your traffic flow and if you exceed this, your site may be disabled for a period of time or you may even receive a bill. Find out what the rules are for traffic and what the consequences are for exceeding your limits.
Consideration #5 Limitations
More often than not, your free web host will have rules regarding the size of photos, icons, and more that you can upload. You will want to check into this before you sign up for free web hosting because if you cannot upload what you need, it is time to look at other options.
While free web hosting is technically free, it frequently costs websites more money in the long run because it limits activity and business from occurring at the rate set by consumers. Because of this, if you have a growing site it will eventually be too big for the free account and you will have to make some changes. Instead of dealing with the hassle, figure out if a free server will really be worthwhile and make a plan for change and growth ahead of time.
